Food in Media Content Consultancy
Justbite Ltd is Justine Pattison’s food in media content consultancy, specialising in food for television, video and film.
With an extensive career working across the television industry, Justine has worked on projects for all the major UK broadcasters, as well as Netflix and Fox. She has coached and consulted on a huge range of television programmes and helped celebrity chefs, presenters and brands develop recipes and food content for their own projects. She has worked across factual entertainment, documentaries, children’s television, cooking game shows and drama.
Qualified home economist and experienced culinary producer
A qualified home economist, experienced food stylist and highly creative culinary producer, Justine brings together practical expertise, strong visual sense and an understanding of what it takes to make food work on camera. She has worked on locations as varied as the Gardens of Versailles and windswept beaches in the outer Hebrides, to massive studio shoots taking several weeks. Live TV or pre-recorded, the bigger the challenge – the better!
Justine has also worked on commercials and food content for major retailers and brands. She understands the particular requirements of commercial food production — where the food needs to look its best, recipes need to be reliable and repeatable, and the production needs to stack on track.
Justine is fully insured with all the necessary food safety qualifications

Food preparation
Justine can manage the entire food operation from her large, well-equipped test kitchen just outside London, with extensive fridge, freezer and storage space, as well as generous food preparation areas for shoots and cook-offs.
Time is money and efficiency counts
She understands that time is money on a production and that everything needs to be planned, tested and ready to go. Justine researches thoroughly, anticipates what a shoot will need and works quickly and efficiently to keep the production moving. On smaller productions, Justine employs her own assistants, so there is no pressure for any production to be calling around to find someone. On large productions, Justine is fully involved in the interview process and capable of selecting the just the right people for the food team.
Creative food props
Justine also has a particularly strong visual and creative skill set, with a background in art and design and extensive experience creating food props for television and film. Her past work has included a full-sized woman made from burger mince, a chocolate coffin stuffed with fake ice-cream and a life-sized man made from pork pies, alongside countless other bespoke food props. She is equally experienced in creating convincing faux food for productions where food needs to remain consistent over longer shooting periods.
For Justine, food props aren’t simply about looking good. They need to work practically on set, be repeatable and maintain continuity across multiple takes.
Research and historical accuracy
When a production requires period or historically accurate food, Justine’s meticulous research ensures that every dish appearing in front of the camera is appropriate to the time, place and story.
She understands that authenticity matters — from the ingredients and recipes through to presentation, props and styling.
